George Strait Announces New Album, Four Show Dates in Las Vegas
“I like Kacey. I think it’s a good mix to have a female artist up there”, he said. There’s no particular inspiration for this record, other than going out and making the best record I can make. “I always shoot for that”, Straight said.
The brand new 19,000-seat Las Vegas Arena will host George Strait starting in April 2016, when he kicks off his handful of Strait to Vegas shows.
For those who can’t wait, he’s also releasing his new album exclusively on Apple Music and in Walmart stores this week.
The album will be named Cold Beer Conversation and is the followup to 2013′s Love Is Everything, which featured “I Got a Car”. Messina said Strait will play the Las Vegas Arena April 22-23 and September 9-10. Tickets for these shows go on sale Friday.
Strait co-produced the new album with Chuck Ainley for George Strait Productions and called on some of the top songwriters in Nashville for the 13 tracks, including Bill Anderson, Jamey Johnson, Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Tom Shapiro. “He has had a significant impact on our city’s entertainment landscape over the years and we are thrilled he will provide Las Vegas visitors and our local community the opportunity to see a series of additional legendary performances”.
Strait already has more than 60 No. 1 singles as well as more than 68.5 million records sold. And when CMT’s Katie Cook asked him whether or not he’s actually had any time off since his last tour, Strait admitted to a little golfing and a little fishing. “There’s no formula that I can say, ‘This is how you do it.’ I just know a song that fits me when I hear it”. George will be one of the first performers to play the new venue. The Las Vegas Arena will hold about 20,000 concertgoers, and its executives are banking on Strait’s major star power to pack the house. I’m looking forward to it so much.
