Kenan and Kel reunite for ‘Tonight Show’ sketch
Good Burger was a reoccurring sketch on the sketch comedy-variety show “All That”, which eventually got turned into a hit comedy film starring Thompson and Mitchell.
But as you’ll see in the clip, it’s still “all Good!” The pair, known as Kenan & Kel, were breakout stars who landed their own eponymously-titled sitcom on Nickelodeon, as well as the feature film “Good Burger“, based on the sketch.
Kel Mitchell was in the midst of an appearance on the late night talk show to promote his new Nickelodeon series, “Game Shakers” when the magic began to unfold. This time, though, Fallon joined Mitchell – whom the public has largely forgotten, with the exception of a 2006 death hoax on MySpace – behind the Good Burger counter. In a move that will thrill kids of the 90s everywhere, Fallon surprised us all by reuniting Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell in a classic Good Burger skit.
Kenan sent in a video message and had been expected – by Kel at least – to give his former pal a shout out – but failed to acknowledge the pair working together. There was additionally in that Good Burger movie in that came out in 1997! Mitchell ensured The Huffington Post past year that there was no beef between he and Thompson, but was unsure if they would ever reunite. Cue Ed’s anthemic, “I’m A Dude”, a song so powerful it brought musty old Higgins and cranky Lester back to party. Sadly, there was no mention of orange soda! After their Nickelodeon show “Kenan & Kel” last aired in 2000 and the reunion of “All That” cast in 2005, the two could not be seen playing alongside each other. It’s the reunion we’ve all been waiting twenty years to see!
