Garry Monk says Swansea playing well despite lean run
Swansea boss Garry Monk says he will recall his regulars for the clash at Southampton and has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
Swans boss Garry Monk declared himself bemused by some of the negativity surrounding the club’s form.
Having started off the season with a goal at Newcastle, Pelle bagged another one in the 3-0 thrashing of Norwich before scoring a brace last weekend against United.
“You can include pre-season as well if you like, and that’s another five games without defeat”.
“We were surprised to get him but, for whatever reason, he didn’t feel it was right for him at Southampton”.
“We always react well when we get setbacks”, he said.
Southampton welcome Swansea as they hope to capitalize on the positive momentum gained from their 0-6 drubbing of MK Dons in the Capital One Cup.
“I had barely met anyone from Swansea and I still felt like Southampton were my club because I had literally only been to Swansea to sign all the paperwork and then I had gone back to start packing things up for the move”.
“We had a lot of changes and they were flying at the time but we had a great result”.
“We’ve had good performances apart from at Watford, and I want us to continue with the same attitude and determination that we’re showing right now”.
“We could have had more points but I think we’re moving along nicely and doing fine”.
Swansea and Southampton have both scored just seven times over their first six Premier League games, with their attacking play still requiring work.
The Welsh outfit have failed to score in or win any of their last three matches and were dumped out of the Capital One Cup during the week as they lost 1-0 at Championship side Hull City.
Gylfi Sigurdsson is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up, while fellow midfielder Jack Cork could face his former employers for the first time after sealing a £3million transfer to the Swans in January.
