Uncharted 4 Delayed to Get Ending Right
One of the major reasons was because Naughty Dog wanted to fix the ending for the game. Nah, I’m not going to say it!
The studio needs a little more time because some aspects of the game were only clear once a lot of work was already done on the single-player story and its most important moments.
“It was going to disappoint to push this thing back”, he continued. Until now. “And again, we would have had to reduce that scope and reduce that ambition to meet that [original] deadline”.
Druckmann has also stated that when he and Bruce Straley, the director of the game started working on “Uncharted 4”, were scratching their heads to come up new ideas for the sequel for “The Last Of Us” and how their characters can be formed.
Ultimately, because “this is the last chapter for Nathan Drake”, Naughty Dog weighed the choices between fans and their expectations, and chose to give themselves as much time as possible and “go all-out for this series”. To gain access, fans will need to pick up a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and make sure to have an active PlayStation Plus membership.
According to a GamesRadar+ report, Druckmann explains that the company felt bad about the Uncharted 4 delay since The Last of Us was “the first game we ever delayed”.
So, it will still be a good few years before we get a sequel to The Last of Us is released, but from Druckmann’s comments it is certainly being talked about over at Naughty Dog. Last we checked, the developers revealed that it would only be released in March 2016 which is still quite a long way to go.
