Two TCU football players arrested on robbery charges
Both Tuaua and Petties-Wilson face a charge of Robbery-Bodily injury.
The two are accused of beating up someone by the TCU campus and then stealing a case of beer from the victim. Like Tuaua, he has not played the past two weeks.
One was sent to a hospital with minor injuries and another was treated at the scene. He made five starts in 2014, playing in 12 of the Horned Frogs’ 13 games last season.
TCU coach Gary Patterson alluded to off-the-field trouble at a press conference last week.
In an unrelated incident, redshirt sophomore Connor Beck, a TCU baseball outfielder was stopped by Fort Worth Police on suspicion of drunken driving early Sunday morning on Park Hill Drive near TCU.
Beck has been charged with a blood alcohol level above 0.15 percent, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The story will be updated as needed. They turned to find three men standing in a front yard, and asked why they had thrown the beer. Petties-Wilson has yet to play any games for the Frogs.
According to ESPN, Tuaua, who was arrested before Petties-Wilson, has been suspended from the team. There is no report at this time as to Petties-Wilson’s current status with the team.
