Facebook Attempts to Make Notes Less Bleak
Facebook had previously hinted at some changes for its oft-ignored Notes tool, and now those changes are rolling out across the site and mobile apps. “You can voice your opinion on something you saw in the news or write an open letter you want to share with the world”. That makes Notes relatively pointless, but Facebook hasn’t given up on the feature yet.
Just like your Facebook profile, Notes can now feature a cover photo at the top and a minimalist editor is on hand to help beautify your posts. In a statement today, the social network said it has updated the feature. With the upgrade, Fortune informs that users may now customize their “notes” with a cover photo. Photos, headers and lists can all be included too. Of course, one can also opt to bold, underline and italicize text through keyboard shortcuts, albeit missing out on integrated buttons to get the job done.
If you run a blog or you’re considering running a blog, the Facebook update gives you a reason to reconsider Notes – you’ll be able to format things a little more, and present content in an overall more modern way. However, the update transforms Notes into a tiny CMS within the Facebook ecosystem. However, it’s staging a comeback and it seems their revamp has seen enough to success to become available to everyone. However, note creation is limited to the web as of the moment.
