Porsche 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition Revealed
The exact auto that will be at Rennsport V will be the 1000 km of Spa victor. Based on a standard GTS model, the 2016 Porsche 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition pays homage to Rennsport Reunion, a gathering of classic Porsche racing cars.
Based on the 911 GTS, the special edition features a bespoke Fashion Grey colour scheme with black and red decals for the bonnet, roof, and engine cover. Strangely, Porsche says just 25 examples will be made worldwide, although it will be sold only in North America.
Owners willing to pony up the $149,330 for the special-edition GTS will be further rewarded with a key fob painted the same Fashion Gray as the auto, plus a special leather case for the key with “911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition” lettering. The 20-inch wheels are painted high-gloss black, and so are the lower portions of the side mirrors and the satellite radio antenna.
For the cabin, Porsche Exclusive chose carbon fiber trimmings, illuminated door-sill guards, with the SportDesign steering wheel, door panels, dashboard, headrests and floor mats stitched in Carmine Red, which is also the color of the seat belts and central tachometer.
Like other GTS models, the Rennsport Edition comes standard with 18-way adaptive sport seats, the PASM sport suspension, a Bose audio system, and rear parking sensors, among a host of other features.
Available exclusively with a manual transmission, the 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition is powered by a 430 hp 3.8 liter flat-six engine, capable of propelling the auto from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and on to a top track speed of 190 miles per hour. They, in turn, work to provide Porsche customers with a best-in-class experience that is in keeping with the brand’s 65-plus year history and leadership in the advancement of vehicle performance, safety and efficiency.
