Forbes names Highest Paid Hip-Hop Cash Kings, Diddy reigns supreme

Credit for Diddy‘s financial success can be attributed to his many lucrative business endeavors, which range form Ciroc vodka and his Sean John clothing line to Aquahydrate, a water brand, and the Revolt TV network.

He took the lead on his former tier-Jay Z. Jay Z was listed as the second most earning hip hop artist. His sold-out On the Run tour with wife Beyoncé contributed to his earnings, as well as business ventures including his entertainment company Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne.

Meanwhile, Yahoo wrote the other stars that made it on this year’s list.

Canadian star Drake comes in at three with $39.5 million (£24.7 million), ahead of last year’s (14) top earner, Dr. Dre.

Dr. Dre was No. 3 on the list, after making history in 2014 with $620 million. The “Happy” singer earned his income from making music, touring, and judging on NBC’s The Voice.

Though he only ranked No. 4 this time around, some of his earnings were not a factor in the current version of the hip-hop rankings. Drake was fourth previous year, but after selling over a million copies of his “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” album released in February, the “Trophies” rapper moved into the upper echelon. The Compton, California rapper-producer earned an estimated $33 million during Forbes’ calculation period this year, good for the #4 spot on the list. He also mingles his fashion sense with an entrepreneurial streak, as evidenced by his Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream clothing lines.

The film has already made about $160 million in the U.S. Dre also released an album with the film that features some new songs from rappers like Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg.

His albums includes 2001’s “The Saga Continues” and 2010’s “Last Train to Paris”, and he’s working on a new record.

Puff Daddy is #1 on “Cash Kings 2015: The World’s Highest Paid Hip-Hop Acts” with earnings of an estimated $60 million.
