Buhari orders IGP to secure Falae’s release
President BuhariTERRORISM and global security are expected to dominate President Muhammadu Buhari’s address at the 70th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly as he leaves Nigeria for New York today.
Besides, he’s anticipated to interact in collection of conferences and interactions with notable world leaders inside and on the sidelines of the primary occasions.
His delegation includes former Rivers and Ekiti state governors, Rotimi Ameachi and Kayode Fayemi, former house of representatives member Abike Dabiri Erewa, SSA Household & Domestic Sarki Abba, SSA Media & Publicity Femi Adesina, Senator Hadi Sirika and others.
The president would also discuss the enhancement of global security, peace-keeping operations, climate change and the adoption of a post 2015 global development agenda in the meetings.
Buahari will be attending the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in the course of which he will have converstaions with UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon, US President Barack Obama, French leader Francois Hollande, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of China Xi Jinping and Indian PM Narenda Modi.
However President Buhari will be skipping the meeting scheduled with Nigerians in the Diaspora, all functions with non-governmental organizations, and the traditional dinner with the business community, his aides say.
President Buhari believes that the stampede at Mina which claimed the life of a Nigerian journalist, Bilkisu Yusuf, and one Professor Tijjani Miskin is very tragic.
“The President will conclude his visit to New York on Tuesday, September 29 and leave the city for Abuja on the same day”.
