Trump nails ‘Trump or Colbert’ on ‘Late Show’
“Who knows-I might one day be able to tell my grandkids I got to interview the last President of the United States“, Colbert said at the top of the show. Trump’s apparent narcissism clearly paid off because he had no trouble differentiating between himself and Colbert. Then, he barreled back into his immigration talking points. Colbert asked. Last night, the new Colbert nearly made it seem like the inflammatory Trump wasn’t worth his time-and I’d agree, if Trump weren’t leading the polls.
This year, Trump has garnered more support by expanding his base beyond the conspiratorial fringe. Trump was able to guess correctly all but one time, perhaps showing that he’s really self-aware about how inflammatory his campaign can be.
“You’re their worst nightmare”. Colbert agreed that he is their big nightmare and the establishment in the Republican Party most likely is not that happy. The comedian who has been known for his outrageous remarks about Trump, also discussed the latter’s position in various hot issues in the country, according to USA Today. If you didn’t make a healthy gift, “believe me, you get the cold shoulder”.
COLBERT: You may be right, you may be right but it doesn’t mention marriage in the Constitution.
Colbert asked the presidential hopeful what he called a “meatball question“, saying: “President Obama, born in the U.S”.
“I don’t talk about it anymore”, Trump said. On Tuesday night’s “Late Show”, host Stephen Colbert offered the GOP frontrunner a chance to put the question behind him once and for all.
“And some nice things…not too many”, Trump interjected, adding, “apology accepted”. “Nobody wears cufflinks anymore”. “That’s you”, the Donald said. Correct. “I was sucking his exhaust for years, but now I’ve bumped up to No. 2 and I need us to settle who is the Stephens of Stephens (Stevens) here…” Humble thoughts like, “I think apologizing’s a great thing, but you have to be wrong…” A Fox News spokesperson said Trump’s tweet came only after the O’Reilly cancellation.
