We are used to seeing the usual $50 million up for grabs for Lotto Max’s weekly Friday night draw, but new rules implemented in July have allowed the jackpot to grow to an unprecedented $60 million.

Big winners in B.C. are rare, however.

The odds of winning tonight’s jackpot are one in 28 million.

That’s the strategy some people are hoping will work for them, as lotto fever grips Vancouver Island.
