Starbucks Goes Nationwide with Mobile Order & Pay
Starbucks’ mobile momentum is brewing strong as the company announced today (Sept. 22) that its Mobile Order & Pay feature was expanding to more stores nationwide – with global offerings on the horizon. Well, there’s an app for that! Users can also customize their food and beverage items, see the order’s estimated time frame-usually three to five minutes-and pay for their order.
Although the app had a soft launch in Portland in December and other areas of the country earlier this summer, it is now available at more than 7,400 stores in the United States.
The app is created to reduce lines and wait times for commuters.
The Starbucks app has always been the de facto way to pay for your Starbucks drink whether you walk into the store or use the drive-thru – quick, convenient and no fussing with your credit card, Starbucks card or cash. Like Mr. Brotman said, this app service will further develop and solidify the ideas of convenience and customization that Starbucks is based on, as well as increasing customer loyalty to the brand.
The Starbucks iOS app supports the Apple Watch for finding stores, making payments and earning rewards.
The extension includes around 3,400 cafes, which comprise those in key cities like New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, D.C. The company has expanded the service to the users of Android devices.
Starbucks expects to expand the app use to Britain and Canada in October.
Starbucks customers nationwide can now order and pay for their morning brew with the touch of a button.
According to Starbucks, feedback over the service has been excellent, especially for busy consumers looking to drop into branches quickly, and for hearing-impaired customers who have previously struggled to customise orders.
You could order everything on the app that you could order in the store. Non-company owned stores, located in airports or in grocery stores, are the last remaining segment in the US, and Brotman said to expect those online next year, along with some additional features, such as the ability to set an order for a particular time.
