Kenny Rogers Announces His Final Tour
After more than half a century in the music business, “The Gambler“, Kenny Rogers, knows when to fold ’em. The 77-year-old says he’s ready to step away from the stage at the end of the year.
“I’ve done this long enough”, he said. The country singer will be retiring from the music industry for good, but he’ll give the fans what they want by embarking on one more HUGE tour before he hangs his boots up. You’ve always been respectful and I will miss you dearly but I must go be with my boys. And I’ve decided that my goal now is to stay home and help Wanda raise Justin and Jordan and be as much of an influence on them as my mother and father were on me, because that’s what parents are for. Rogers said that he wants to take his wife and children on trips that are on his bucket list, such as going to Alaska to see the salmon runs. “I don’t walk around well, so I’ve found some new humor”.
Details and dates for Rogers’ final world tour will be announced in the coming months.
Kenny Rogers is hanging up his mic, but not before a farewell tour.
The singer’s road trip will include his annual Christmas tour beginning November. 11 and ending December. 23.
So what will he do with all his free time?
Today (Sept 25th), Rogers released his first Christmas album in 17 years, Once Again It’s Christmas, marking his 76th album overall. “My mobility is really driving me insane”, Rogers explained of his lingering health issues. This new album features guest appearances by several artists, including bluegrass singer/fiddler Alison Krauss, along with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland.
