Amy Schumer memoir is scheduled to come late next year

The publisher told the AP that the book will “offer personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing”.

The 34-year-old star has secured a deal worth between €7 and €9 million for her memoir, thought to be called The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. Publisher Simon & Schuster has not responded to Refinery29’s request for comment.

Regarding her memoir, Schumer said in a statement released through the publisher, “I am thrilled to be working with Gallery”.

Schumer this week won an Emmy for her sketch show Inside Amy Schumer, which she both wrote and starred in.

Thanks to Schumer’s increasing popularity, sources report that the bidding war for the comedienne’s memoir/essay collection was finalized just hours after her Emmy win and it seems she stands to earn a lot of money from her words as well as her performances. The comedian is also in the process of writing a screenplay with new best friend Jennifer Lawrence, in which the pair would play sisters. Later this year, the 34-year-old will host Saturday Night Live.
