Watch The Walk’s new extended trailer
Anyone interested in the result of Petit’s stunt could simply look it up online; what Zemeckis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are attempting to do, however, is ratchet up the tension experienced by Petit and his camp of co-conspirators leading up to the historic event. The former is, you might guess, a showcase for the large-scale format’s relationship with Philippe Petit’s high-wire work, though about half of this is conversational / expository material carried out in rooms. He does everything elaborately.
Boasting a near unparalleled sense of scale and grandeur, it’s rather apt for the director’s new film to receive an extensive IMAX trailer, spotlighting the impressive visual effects that will be bringing Philippe Petit’s daring feat to life like never before.
“And we just spent eight days straight, all day”.
The Walk hits theaters September 30.
The Walk is not the only movie that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has on the go right now, including playing Edward Snowden in the biopic about the NSA whistleblower. “That’s the most important thing to me”.
“I’ve always loved his movies”. A lengthy new IMAX trailer has dropped for the picture which is going big, or going home. Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, Clément Sibony, César Domboy, Benedict Samuel, Ben Schwartz and Steve Valentine round out the starry cast.
