Support for O’Donnell as he takes to the Strictly dance floor
Singer Peter Andre raised the roof and topped the leaderboard with his red-hot cha cha cha in the second part of Strictly Come Dancing’s opening double-header.
GRIMSBY’s Kevin Clifton stunned the judges after securing one of the highest scores of the night with the first dance of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
While Bruno Tonoli said he “loved the performance” but wanted to see “more smooth hip action” and told him to “get some fire in the loins”. I can’t wait to find out who will be joining Craig, Bruno and myself – it’s going to be a lot of fun! The only thing I can say to add something to that performance is showmanship. “But it’s the next step in the progression and something to look forward to”.
The country star posted a photograph of himself with the baby, born just last month, on his Facebook page yesterday, exclaiming: “Look who came to cheer granddad on in strictly this weekend”.
His nerves were unfounded as he was met with glowing reviews from the scrutinising judges, with Len Goodman saying: ‘Jay McGuinness, You’re like a glass of Guinness- full bodied with a bit of froth on top…
Judge Bruno Tonioli said: “Wonderfully enthusiastic and energetic”.
The pair were given a score of five by Craig, eight by Darcey and seven each by Len and Bruno.
“That dance would qualify for the World Dad Dancing Championships”, said Craig, calling Jeremy’s bottom wiggles “bizarre”.
Jay has been partnered with professional dancer Aliona Vilani who has appeared on the show six times and previously won the show with McFly drummer, Harry Judd.

“I could not take my eyes off you”, added Bruno. “It wasn’t that brilliant but you’ve got next week” before the duo were awarded just 17 points.
