Kenan & Kel revisit ‘Good Burger’ with Fallon
If you were a child of the ’90s, you’re probably quite familiar with “Good Burger“, the fictional fast food chain made famous in a Kenan & Kel sketch on the Nickelodeon comedy show All That. Thanks to him, we’ve gotten to revisit both Saved by the Bell and Full House, and our lives are better for it.
And that’s exactly what happened last night on The Tonight Show. Later, Ed (Mitchell) and Lester Oaks (Kenan) talk abou their mutual appreciation of all things Good Burger. The duo, who starred in their self-entitled show from 1996-2000, channeled their classic 1997 film Good Burger for a seven minute long scene that included Fallon. Kenan and I are still talking about it”, Mitchell said in an interview on Thursday, “It was awesome to be back in that zone again and be on set together.
The pair doused a customer in mustard and took every comment literally – standard “Good Burger” fare – before The Roots’ Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter showed up to order a spicy chicken wrap.
But as you’ll see in the clip, it’s still “all Good!” Thompson is now shooting the comedy Brother in Laws with Gillian Jacobs and Bill Pullman, while Mitchell just premiered a new Nickelodeon series titled “Game Shakers“.
The Mitchell and Kenan Thompson reunion was 15 years in the making, a moment millennials have begged for consistently with Facebook campaigns and GIF love letters.
The pair nearly squashed their feud past year at the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, when one of the executive producers of Kenan & Kel received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
For his part, Thompson (also 37) is returning to the cast of “Saturday Night Live” for its 41st season, having served on the show since 2003.
