Tire issue returns plane to Denver airport after takeoff
According to Southwest, the captain diverted the plane, which was carrying about 140 passengers, to an airport in central Kansas about 9:30 p.m. CDT on Thursday because of a possible wheel fire.
The Denver Post is reporting that a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore flying into Denver, Colorado was isolated in a remote area of the Denver global Airport (DIA) after landing on Saturday evening due to a security threat.
A Southwest spokesman says he could not detail the nature of the threat.
American Airlines confirmed to the station that flight UA 1865 bound for Minneapolis-St. “Our maintenance teams will have the first look and final say”.
They were made aware of the threat more than an hour before but an FBI spokesperson said it was “non-credible”.
No one has been detained or arrested “at this time”, Sanders said.
