West Nile Virus confirmed in Tarpon Springs chicken

Culex pipiens – the common backyard mosquito that is the primary carrier of West Nile – breeds best in water that collects in containers such as catch basins, neglected swimming pools, and bird baths, Henley said.

Wear long, loose, light-colored clothing. Keep your screens repaired. When using deet, be sure to read and follow label instructions. Eliminate all sources of standing water on your property, by emptying flower pots, old auto tires, and buckets.
