Supermoon Lunar Eclipse Is In Full Effect In Ocean County
Instagram addicts had to take to their cameras immediately as the next suchlike event will take place in 18 years.
A moon bathed in blood-red light of a total eclipse is called Blood Moon, but tonight is much more special.
The event will start at 9:07 p.m. Sunday and by 10:12 p.m.it will be fully eclipsed. “When the rhythms line up, you might get three to four eclipses in a row or a supermoon and an eclipse happening”.
Books have been written claiming they are celestial signals which will fulfil biblical prophecies of the apocalypse.
Aislinn Pilia said: “London, a clear starry night and a gorgeous supermoon worth getting up for but now going back to bed lol”.
The eclipse was observed around the globe with sky gazers sharing photographs and video on social media.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes within Earth’s shadow.
Hundreds flocked to Assiniboine Park to watch the combined supermoon and lunar eclipse on Sunday night. He said the additional component of the earth’s atmosphere adds “all kinds of twists and turns to the experience”.
While lunar eclipses are nothing new, Hranac says don’t miss this one as this combination won’t happen again until 2033. The farthest end of the Moon’s orbit is called apogee and the point at which the Moon is closest to Earth is referred to as its perigee.
Latest: The moon bathed in blood-red light of a total eclipse – the Blood Moon – lit up the early morning sky, if only briefly. “We also have this moon being the 4th in the series of tetrad, or 4 total lunar eclipses in a matter of 2 years”.
