Hoardings of PM, BJP chief defaced in Kanpur
In a state where caste equations are crucial for electoral success, the BJP has just created a new morcha (wing) for the Other Backward Castes (OBCs) in their party organization. “They only want power, whether they get it by dividing the society on the basis of religion, this is their principle and their philosophy”, he added.Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah had yesterday claimed that only his party can work for the welfare of the backward classes.
Over 500 BJP leaders and workers are expected to attend the meet. “In Gujarat he was known as “Hindu hriday samrat”. In Delhi poll Narendra Modi was presented as a “vikash purush” (development messiah) but in Bihar he is portrayed as an OBC leader”, the JD(U) General Secretary said.
“We wish to know from BJP what his (PM) real identity is”, he said taking a jibe at the saffron party.
He too cited the name of ex- Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda to contradict Amit Shah’s claim.
Both Mr Kumar and Mr Prasad are OBC leaders, and assembly elections in Bihar are due in a few months.
“The BJP has given the maximum number of OBC chief ministers”.
“During the anniversary function of poet Ramdhari Singh “Dinkar”, PM won claps of people for talking against casteism”. Today, the most OBC MLAs and MPs come from BJP.
Hours before his scheduled arrival in the Kanpur, BJP chief Amit Shah’s posters in Mall Road and Cantt area, put up for his welcome to the city, were blackened by some unidentified persons on Saturday. The BJP-led NDA has won 13 out of 24 seats while it earlier held only five seats.
