Jason Witten: (Ankle) Probable For Week 3
Same with playing through two sprained ankles and a sprained left knee this week.
Witten declared after practice that he feels good and believes he will be able to play against Atlanta, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Witten has played in 189 straight games, the longest active streak by a non-kicker or specialist, and that has earned him his tough-guy credentials. Despite those injuries, Witten looks like he will be ready to go after not having setbacks while practicing this week. “And that’s what I’ve been trying to do all week, is get myself in position”. Weeden lost the lone start he made in place of Romo last season but has another year of experience in the system.
Moore and Schofield must most embody coach Dan Quinn’s fast and physical style of play against the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end. “He’s a smart tight end and he knows the offense”.
Witten has had a solid start to the season already with 15 catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns and he said earlier in the week that he would be “fine” for Week 3. “If it’s third down or a two-minute drill, they know how to feature him”.
Jason Witten has proved to be one of the most durable and reliable players in the NFL. If Witten is on the field, the Cowboys have the chance to stretch things and they likely will focus on Williams and the rushing attack against the Falcons.
So even though some have suggested he’s “not a lock” to play this week against the Falcons, Witten had other ideas.
