Azealia Banks clashes with EastEnders’ Alison Newman in vicious Twitter row
Though the material has been taken down, The Daily Mail captured screenshots of the post and the comments.
It all comes full circle on Sunday night, where Banks went on Twitter to reflect on last week’s drama. Read a lightly edited version of her tweets, below. Banks referenced the ongoing backlash over her language, and in place of an apology, she said the controversy only gave her “power”.
“All I had to do was say one word and I moved a whole community”, she tweeted.
If the tweet is legit, it’s, of course, not only offensive to the gay community in general, but also to any person who’s suffered emotionally or physically at the hands and over the ideology of the extremist Ku Klux Klan organization. “Because all the time spent being mad at word could’ve been used to help people who really need the help!” she continued. “You’ve allowed gay men to convince you that u owe them respect while they refer to you as fish and cunt”, Banks tweeted at Newman. I’d be like ‘That’s all you got???’ You boys gotta toughen up!!! Don’t be so weak!
Keep f***ing with me if you f***ing want to…One day your [hemorrhoids] are going to burst and you’ll bleed to death bitch…Yea keep trolling for dick on grindr. Words are not tangible things. Remember… Offense is only TAKEN, it is never given.
The rapper then shot back: ‘No shame on YOU.
Banks initially responded to criticism of her use of the world “faggot” by saying she’s a part of that community and couldn’t possibly mean any disrespect.
