That represents a 7-point increase for Fiorina, who has sparred with Trump, since last month, as well as a 5-point gain for Carson and 3-point gain for Bush in the poll.

Donald Trump is anything but humble and even with the latest poll results, he is insistent that he can still win over black voters. Trump has been a household name in real estate business and other candidates can only hope of establishing such recognition at this point.

The September 17-23 survey of 344 likely GOP primary voters by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows Trump on top with 26 percent. Both of Bush’s performances had been widely panned by observers, while Rubio has appeared to have found his footing last Wednesday evening on a crowded stage. Oddly enough, Fiorina now has more congressional endorsements than Marco Rubio.

But that same Florida Atlantic University poll shows Ben Carson would trounce Clinton in the state, 52 to 40 percent, if he were the Republican nominee. Many Republican candidates including Trump say they believe in legal immigration, however, and Trump has stated that a large door in the wall should allow people to enter America the proper and legal way.

But 29 percent of GOP voters say they “would definitely not support” Trump.

For Trump, however, there is a clear need to convince evangelicals that he is not dismissive of religion after he said in Iowa in July that he had not asked God for forgiveness and referred to the Communion wafer as a “little cracker”.

When several thousand Christian conservative activists gather in Washington on Friday, they will hear from Donald Trump and seven other Republican presidential candidates. “If you look at the Fox poll that just came out, it’s an even bigger margin than this [Quinnipiac poll]”.

The Bloomberg poll was conducted among 1,001 adults and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.
