99% ready for ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ return
Spoiler Alert: Tonight, two of Saturday Night Live’s finest are reuniting. Bill Hader will debut Sunday as Capt. Seth Dozerman, a new leader for the precinct now that Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher) has been transferred to the public relations wing of the NYPD at the hands of devious Deputy Chief Wuntch (Kyra Sedgwick).
Be sure to tune into the Season 3 premiere episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, tonight at 8:30 p.m. eastern on Fox.
After being forced to leave the precinct, he and Gina (Chelsea Peretti) find themselves stuck in misery with a job that essentially does nothing. Second, during the 2013 Comedy Central Roast of James Franco, Hader, appearing in a wig as The President of Hollywood, mocked the show mercilessly: “Funny cops”.
What do you think about Bill Hader’s casting? “What’s going to happen when you run out of amusing crimes like graffiti and pickpockets?” Such authoritarianism doesn’t sit well with Jake and Amy, whose budding romance is immediately imperiled by Dozerman’s new rules, or Rosa, who seems physically repulsed by the new captain’s ideas about keeping the force on task.
Hopefully you didn’t get too attached to him though, as he was quickly killed of via a heart attack.
With dreams happening in the Nine-Nine, poor Captain Holt (Andrea Braugher) is living a nightmare. Also working cases in Brooklyn’s 99th are Detective AMY SANTIAGO (Melissa Fumero), the unit’s honorary straight arrow, for whom Jake has confessed his “romantic-styles” affection.
In typical Brooklyn Nine-Nine fashion, though, that discussion gets tabled as soon as more madcap antics begin to plague the 9-9.
As amusing as seeing Braugher dressed up as the NYPD’s new pigeon mascot is, it’d be better to see him reunite with his merry band of crime-stoppers, which brings us back to The Office. That special family dynamic was fractured, and things were never really the same.
