Investigation continues into officer involved shooting in Fountain

The Fountain Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 700 block of Legend Oak Drive.

The person fatally shot by a Fountain police officer Thursday afternoon was a 17-year-old boy, officials said Friday.

An investigation is underway after police officers responding to a disturbance in Fountain were involved in a shooting. According to police, a suspect pulled out a gun after the officers entered the home, and an officer fired a shot.

The person who was shot was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

It’s unclear if the teen threatened anyone, and investigators have not said what led to the shooting.

The shooting happened inside the residence.
