Tesla drives towards 2020 target of 500000 cars with European factory
One new, formidable feature to surface in recent weeks that Tesla hasn’t talked about is a seamless piece of glass all the way from the bottom to the windshield to the top edges of where the falcon wing doors begin (which are the rear doors that provide entry to the second-and third-row seats).
Check back tomorrow for more info on the Model X launch event which will likely include details on the new all-electric crossover.
This is actually Tesla’s second factory in Tilburg.
The new plant, also in Tilburg, will be the company’s first dedicated facility outside of its home market and will double European production from 200 to 450 cars per week to reduce wait times for its Model S. Tomorrow at 7:30pm Pacific, Tesla Motors will hand the keys of Model X cars to the first customers. Tesla will need to generate more revenue as it grows and expands, and the obvious way to do so is by selling more vehicles.
Invitation to Model X event.
However, the Model X will be up against some stiff competition from the likes of Audi that recently showcased its eTron Quattro concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor show.
Multiplying such registrations with their respective minimum selling price of $132,000 for Signature series and $ 80,000 for regular version, means the EV maker is expecting over $2.242 billion revenue in waiting. Production will ramp up slowly.
A slight glimpse of Tesla trouble was seen this week when Tesla stock was rallying on Tuesday trading session over the company’s official Model X launch event invitation.
