2 dead, 2 in custody after shooting
One man was dead and another was injured late Friday in Minneapolis in a shooting, police said.
The fatal shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m., when police got a ShotSpotter notification around the 1800 block of Newton Avenue North.
“There’s a lot of people effected by it”, Minneapolis Police Spokesman John Elder said.
When they arrived, a man was found in front of the house dead from a gunshot wound.
Neighbors say his young son was also brought out of the house unharmed – leaving Mishow fearing for the worst for a mother and her daughter. The identity of the victims will be released following autopsies by the Hennepin County medical examiner.
The police commander for the neighborhood plans to add more patrol officers as investigators probe the double homicide, Elder said in a statement on the MPD website.
Mishow knew the man that lived inside with his wife and two children.
Police investigates the scene of a domestic double homicide in south Minneapolis on Friday night, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Residents will see more officers in the area and the department encourages them to “work with officers on this public safety issue”, the release stated.
