You can now boost your broadband speed for FREE – here’s how
This new speed is now one of the fastest in the United Kingdom beating BT’s current top speed of 160Mbps service.
Vivid 200Mbps enables customers to download two hour HD movie in three minutes two seconds and a music album in three seconds.
The upgrade is the third time that Virgin Media has boosted its customer broadband speeds in the last five years, and marks a quadrupling of the fastest speeds available from in 2010.
Virgin Media broadband customers are set for a major speed boost after the company announced it would be upping its network to the fastest speeds yet.
That of course includes BT Infinity, which now only offers a top end speed of 76Mbps to its users although many of its packages come with free TV offerings. Additionally, customers that need a hardware upgrade will automatically be sent a new Superhub for the cost of postage.
Virgin Media is investing heavily in its ultrafast network to meet consumer demand. The company has also embarked on a £3 billion programme to connect four million more homes and businesses to ultrafast broadband speeds.
Virgin Media managing director of consumer Gregor McNeil, said: “Our message is simple: if you want to be certain that you are signing up to true ultrafast broadband speeds of 100Mbps and above, Vivid from Virgin Media is the new standard”.
This Vivid branding will be applied to all of Virgin’s broadband services from 100Mbps and upwards, but all customers can benefit from the speed increase.
Virgin Media customers are in for a treat after it delivered a shot of nitrous oxide to its already lightning quick broadband speeds that are passing 200Mbps for the first time.
