IPS officer accuses superior of harassment
The vehicle Free Day-2 (CFD) was observed on Tuesday in selected regions of the city where Gurgaon police chief Navdeep Singh Virk and Joint Commissioner of Police Bharti Arora rode bicycles. Bharti had further alleged that Virk even tried to malign her reputation and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter. She has written to State DGP Yashpal Singh saying she is being mentally tortured by the commissioner. “There can’t be any question of wrongful implication of Ajay Bharadwaj in the rape case as he was arrested in the said rape case much before I was posted here”.
The officer said that complainant had earlier too had slapped such charges on two men.
According to a report on India Today, Bharti claimed that she was handed over the responsibility of supervising and investigating a rape case which she found to be a false case where in an entire family including old parents, a brother and a sister were framed by the Police Commissioner. I objected and told him this is wrong.
Ajay Bhardwaj, an MNC executive and the son of Gurgaon’s former deputy commissioner R.P. Bhardwaj was booked for rape (376) and his family members for criminal intimidation (506) under Indian Penal Code past year. She has sought Singhal’s immediate intervention expressing apprehensions that her career might be harmed by the Virk. He has been accused of rape by his live-in partner, with whom he reportedly has a child. Commissioner wanted to indict the accused for reasons best known to him and the victim was acting like virtual police commissioner all the time. She’s alleged that while the offences can not be made out, Virk was on implicating Bhardwaj crouched.
Virk said the concerned officer is levelling such false allegations to hide her own illegal actions as a report for taking action against her has been sent to DGP Haryana. Following this he told me an enquiry he’d done against me on allegations of the rape victim and promised me guilty (sic).
