Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has promoted its president Steve Mosko to chairman of the company and revamped the senior team behind its worldwide distribution arm.
“Sony Pictures Television and Crackle are proud to be a part of this important campaign to raise funds and awareness for National Parks through Picture This”, says Berger.
Variety adds: “On Mosko’s watch, Sony Pictures TV rebuilt its domestic scripted operation from scratch – after the previous Sony Pictures regime shut down its money-losing primetime unit – and expanded overseas with Sony- and AXN-branded channels in more than 180 countries”.
The executive joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1992, and was named President of Sony Pictures Television in 2000. The Sony TV chief told DTVE’s sister title, TBI, about his plans for SPT past year. An independent studio with no affiliated network, SPT also produces syndication’s longtime top-rated game shows, Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy!, and the top network daytime serials The Young And The Restless and Days Of Our Lives.
Mosko was previously the president of Sony Pictures Television. From SPT’s Culver City base he will run TV and movie sales to free and pay TV.
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has reorganized its executive ranks within its worldwide distribution business, with Mike Wald set to oversee distribution in Asia-Pacific.
He most recently oversaw SPT’s distribution efforts in all of Asia, plus Australia, New Zealand and India. He will work out of the company’s Sydney office reporting to Wald.
Angel Orengo, the executive VP of global distribution for EMEA, will move from Hong Kong, where he oversaw the Asia-Pacific territory, and will now be based in the company’s London office. He said: “These appointments not only allow [the executives] to bring their learning and expertise to different markets, but also underscore our commitment to developing and providing opportunities for our executives who excel”.
