Ben Affleck debuts ‘Batman v Superman’ footage at Comic
The solo adventure is unlikely to be in cinemas before 2019 at the earliest, by which time we’ll have seen how the Caped Crusader is affected by both Batman Vs Superman and the Justice League movies.
More importantly, the trailer provides a few context for Bruce Wayne’s grudge against Superman, showing the Dark Knight’s perspective during the fight between Superman and Zod in 2013’s Superman: Man of Steel.
That leads him to get all his old gear out of mothballs, put on the costume again (including that armor we saw in the first teaser) and get back in action as he attempts to track down Superman. We’ll have to watch over and over again.
Affleck, Cavill and Snyder were joined on the Hall H stage with co-stars Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, and Amy Adams to talk about the legacy of their characters.
Affleck said if he thought too hard about the actors who’d played the part of Batman before, he wouldn’t have taken the job.
The vengeful hero is then seen clutching a newspaper report with the words: “You let your family die” scrawled across it.
A new “Green Lantern” movie, “Green Lantern Corps” is also due out in 2020.
But that trailer…whoa. Take a look yourself. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
