Metta World Peace rejoins the Los Angeles Lakers
According to Yahoo Sports, the Lakers are signing Peace to a one-year deal that is non-guaranteed.
If Metta can make the team, I’m sure the Black Mamba will be happy to have the Tru Warrior going into battle with him once again, as he’ll be the only player to have won a championship alongside Kobe on the team.
The team’s best player last season, Jordan Clarkson, should team with Russell in the backcourt, providing the Lakers with a potentially potent one-two punch of capable point guards in the starting lineup.
The trainers had let him back into the gym in March to start his long, lonely return to the Los Angeles Lakers’ lineup, and Randle desperately resisted the slow, steady churn of the regimen.
World Peace was also reported to have grown incredibly close with Lakers forward, Julius Randle. Although the injury was stressful and scary, Randle believes that in the end, it helped him become who he is today.
With [Tim] DiFrancesco noting Randle “plays at a very violent pace” as a bruising post player and playmaker, the Lakers’ training staff will also calculate Randle’s loads and intensity.
“Watching those two guys practice, it’s nearly comical what they do to each other”.
World Peace and Kobe Bryant will be working with Lakers forward Julius Randle, the team’s seventh overall pick in 2014, who suffered a broken leg in his National Basketball Association debut last season. “They’re both mega-competitors”. The Lakers, however, are trying to scratch and claw their way back into the playoff mix in the Western Conference, by any means necessary it seems.
Every daytime, Randle is enchanted using the mental of World Peace.
Peace is likely to come off the bench for the Lakers this season though his (and his teammates) performance could change all that when the 2015-16 season kicks off.
World Peace will be the 19th player on the Lakers’ current roster.
Those are the types of attributes, along with his much vaunted rim protection, that the Lakers’ front office will be looking for Upshaw to display when training camp begins Monday in Hawaii.
