Stage setup collapses during Carly Fiorina event
The GOP presidential candidate got a scare when a large curtain fell across the stage, rod and all, in San Antonio, Texas, Sunday. “Carly wasn’t injured”, Fiorina spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said in an email.
A video posted on Twitter appears to show a group of women shielding the former Hewlett-Packard CEO as the backdrop to the stage collapses while she was taking questions during a conference of women entrepreneurs.
After the curtains fell, one crowd member shouted out ‘Trump!’, seeming to accuse the current Republican frontrunner of causing the accident, according to the Texas Tribune.
Looks like no one’s pulling the curtain over Fiorina’s eyes at this one.
In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, Fiorina said she was open to a government shutdown if it would make President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party defend “the butchery” of Planned Parenthood.
While she was relegated to the lower end of the field during the first Fox Republican debate, standing alongside the likes of Rick Perry, who has now dropped out, she burst into the top end of the pack after a confident, assured display. Still, the feisty candidate maintains her position.
Planned Parenthood demonstrators are definitely not fans of Carly Fiorina. Fiorina said. “Does Hillary Clinton think this is not happening?”
The curtains began to tremble, and with an audible rumble, started to come down.
