Presidential hopeful John Kasich to speak on Hilton Head tonight
Even as his campaign and allies finance millions of dollars into television commercials in New Hampshire, Gov. John Kasich is considering another path to keep his presidential candidacy alive until the crucial Michigan and Ohio primaries in March. “We’re here to help the drug-addicted get rehab, the mentally ill to get on their feet, the working poor to have some healthcare so they don’t have to spend some time in the emergency rooms”. Kasich asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday.
“What really works is when I can get out here and do events like this”.
Kasich, Ohio’s two-term governor and former congressman, plans stops in Sioux City and Council Bluffs on Saturday. “We changed the welfare system which had been in place for about 40 years, we balanced the budget of which I was the chief architect, and we cut taxes, the economy was growing, and we were doing great”.
“‘Well, there’s three things you need to be -be President, in my opinion, ‘ said by a smart Democrat”.
“I have a lot of respect for John Weaver, but the fact he worked for McCain means he probably knows more about New Hampshire and the path there than Iowa”, Yepsen said.
“If we elect somebody who doesn’t know how to get it done, who makes a lot of promises, what have we achieved?”
Donald Trump tops the poll with 21%, followed closely by Ben Carson with 20%.
