FSU RB Dalvin Cook to be charged for battery of woman
Winston is in the National Football League now, but the problems persist in Tallahassee as Johnson and Cook getting into trouble for beating women is the worst look possible for a university in what we though as a civilized age of humanity.
Cook was indefinitely suspended from the football team Friday afternoon after news broke that he was the subject of a battery investigation.
ESPN reports a warrant will be issued for the arrest of Cook, who will be charged with misdemeanor battery.
The biggest problem facing Florida State football right now isn’t figuring out how to win the ACC or reach the college football playoffs for a second consecutive year.
Cook, a rising sophomore, was the Seminoles leading rusher last season with 1,008 yards. Last June he and two other players where questioned over a BB-gun battle that damaged cars and apartments in Tallahasee.
“The woman said the man returned to the parking lot with Cook and an argument became heated, and then Cook punched her in the face several times”. He was also second on the team with eight touchdowns.
Both men, she said claimed they were football players who could “buy her in a couple of years”. “They kept telling me to Google them”.
The police report indicates that the woman was intoxicated. Cook’s accuser presented Meggs photos of her injuries.
An independent witness, who said he was at the bar inquiring about a security job, told police that he saw a black male “being very forward” with Geohegan about taking her home and having sex with her, prior to the argument. The incident occurred one night before ex- FSU quarterback De’Andre Johnson was caught on security camera’s punching a woman at a bar. His lawyer said he was acting in self-defense while five FSU players have been subpeonaed in the case.
“You have to continually remind them that their actions may have some consequences they have to live with the rest of their life”, said Bob Goin, ex- FSU athletic director. He was kicked off the team.
He was named in a 2014 aggravated assault case after two men he was with were alleged to have brandished a handgun at a neighbor.
