‘Gambit’ Movie Updates: Anna Paquin says ‘no’ to reprising Rogue; Production
When asked by a fan on Twitter if she’ll reprise her role as Rogue in the upcoming “X-Men” spinoff movie “Gambit“, starring Channing Tatum, Anna Paquin succinctly replied, “No”.
There had been no word about Rogue’s participation in the Gambit film at all, so one intrepid fan just asked Paquin on Twitter point blank. So now that Fox is finally making a Gambit movie, might Rogue drop by to make heart eyes at him?
NZ-raised star Anna Paquin has confirmed she will not be in the upcoming Marvel film Gambit. While we don’t know what period Gambit will be set in, rumors of Tatum appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse suggest the character could be in his early 30s in the 1980s – which roughly lines up with the character’s age in X-Men: Origins.
Don’t expect the Gambit movie to go Rogue anytime soon. He is also known as the card thrower and other objects as he turns them into explosive projectiles.
Of course, it’s always possible Rogue will appear in the movie and be played by a different actresses, but that doesn’t seem too likely.
The “Gambit” standalone film will be out in October 2016.
The film is in need of a new director ever since Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) exited the project a couple weeks ago.
