Sneak Peek of Sherlock Special
BBC previously released a different teaser image for the special back in November.
As mentioned by reports, the episode will be based on the Victorian era.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman normally play Holmes and Watson in a modern setting. The good doctor is also sporting a mustache.
“We know very, very clearly what stories we’re doing”, he revealed. As always, three episodes are expected from season four.
Asked if he caught the killer, he says: “Caught the murderer, still looking for the legs, think we’ll call it a draw”.
The Christmas special will return the iconic detective to his roots as it takes place in Victorian England (if you couldn’t tell from the period appropriate attire and scenery).
But it will at least satisfy fans until the fourth series of the popular programme, which is not scheduled to air until 2017. However, he does know where it’s going and teased that it will “sucker-punch you into emotional devastation.” Oof. Moffat revealed in March it would be a standalone actually set in Victorian times.
The most important element of this equation is the word “ghosts”, which is mentioned by Moffat stating that maybe we can deconstruct the whole thing from that. The Game is on-again!
After showing the clip, Steven Moffat said “and didn’t [that] look good on the big screen”.
As usual Holmes blames his lack of punctuality on dead bodies, Watson gets no respect for his writing and Mrs. Hudson complains about being treated like a maid. In the United Kingdom, the show can be watched on BBC One. The special will presumably air sometime around December, though an actual date hasn’t been announced.
