Star UGA Football Player under Investigation by Athens Police
According to an Athens-Clarke County police incident report, McKenzie is accused of “making terroristic threats” to a female complainant at the Chili’s restaurant on Alps Road at 10:28 p.m. Monday night. The opposite players talked about within the report – safety Dominick Sanders, wide receiver Terry Godwin, linebacker D’Andre Walker & safety Jarvis Wilson – are all listed as witnesses to the incident.
Additional information was not immediately available.
UGA WR Isaiah McKenzie is accused of making “terroristic threats” at a Chili’s. At this point, it seems like McKenzie is the only player facing possible discipline. She said that the sophomore told her “he was going to call a few friends and they were going to come out and he was going to kill [her]”.
No charges have been filed, The Red and Black reported Tuesday.
School officials are aware of the incident but haven’t commented.
McKenzie is the Bulldogs’ fourth-leading receiver with five catches for 64 yards. He’s most dynamic in the return game where he has eight punt returns for 116 yards and a touchdown.
Athletics director Greg McGarity told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution will comment at the appropriate time “if there’s anything to say”.
