Oklahoma AG joins Bush’s campaign

On Tuesday, presidential-hopeful Jeb Bush is expected to present the details of his plan to rework the energy sector in order to create jobs and spur on the economy.

Bush’s proposal also includes plans to approve the Keystone XI pipeline, which would carry crude from Canada to Texas.

Industry groups and a few lawmakers from states that have relied on coal-based energy have vowed to challenge the new requirements in the courts and through Congress. Bush said in his post that the Obama plan “needs to be stopped in its tracks” and that any federal rules that would suppress domestic energy production and raise energy prices should be addressed by the next president.

Still, Bush’s overall premise that lifting the ban would expand economic growth held up to independent scrutiny. His plan follows other positions he’s taken in this campaign which would set back our progress on developing clean energy and combating climate change.

In other words, he wants to do the opposite of President Obama.

Rather than offend the masses of voters by attacking those two very popular programs, Bush spoke about African-American voters – most of whose ancestors, let us not forget, were brought here to help build this country with free labor – as if they’re only looking for free handouts. “This must change. Washington should generally defer to the will of states and tribes”.
