Anti-Abortion Campaigner Troy Newman Banned From Entering Australia
Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has confirmed to News Corp Australia that he has cancelled Troy Newman’s visa after concerns were raised that his presence in the country could incite hate and violence against those women who have an abortion and the medical professionals who perform them.
In a Facebook post, Mr Newman expressed his disgust at the decision.
The Operation Rescue website said Mr Newman had “booked another ticket on a different airline and will travel on to Los Angeles tonight” in the hope he can still fly to Melbourne.
‘I can confirm that my department has cancelled the visa for Mr Troy Newman under Section 128 of the Migration Act, ‘ the statement reads.
Turned away… Troy Newman is not allowed to enter Australia.
Multiple independent investigations have found no evidence of wrongdoing by the health care provider, and an analysis of the videos have found that they are misleading, at best.
The decision comes after the Australian Government announced it may block American singer Chris Brown from touring the country because of his history of domestic violence.
Newman’s group Operation Rescue, meanwhile, released a statement accusing pro-abortion campaigners of “viciously false accusations”.
Sullenger, who served two years on a three-year sentence for her role in a 1988 clinic bombing plot, complained that Newman “had been the victim of “political persecution, plain and simple, as well as an attempt to silence the pro-life message in Australia”.
Newman received the notification of his visa cancellation when he was on his way to Australia, and recorded the conversation on his phone.
The president of Right to Life Australia said Newman had suffered a “gross denial” of his human rights.
“The United States government has abrogated its responsibility to properly deal with the blood-guilty”. “This responsibility rightly involves executing convicted murderers, including abortionists, for their crimes in order to expunge bloodguilt from the land and people”.
Mary Dutton of Right to Life of Australia, who invited Newman and is sponsoring his speaking tour said, “We are all very upset, that this has happened and are working furiously to turn it around”.
Labor MP Terri Butler welcomed the decision, saying it “sends a strong message to those who would seek to cause discord in the community, and disrupt the ability of women to access lawful reproductive medicine”.
