Amazon Flex hiring Austin delivery drivers
Amazon Flex is set to eventually launch in a number of major markets in the USA, specifically major Amazon Prime Now markets, such as New York, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Baltimore, Austin, Indianapolis, Portland, and Atlanta.
Similar to other on-demand delivery services such as Postmates, each contractor will be able to choose his or her hours, have to use his or her own auto, and be responsible for getting the products to the consumers in a timely fashion. The move comes before the bustlingly busy November and December holiday shopping period. Ride-sharing service Uber itself has been rolling out a food delivery service UberEats.
If one is thinking about becoming a Flex program delivery person, they’ll have to go through a regular background check.
People in Seattle can sign up now. In Washington largest city, the company has already tested out Prime Now, and the option to deliver beer and wine.
The service, which is presently live in Seattle, initially focuses on hiring couriers for Amazon’s one-hour delivery service Amazon Prime Now.
There’s currently no word as to whether this will be something Amazon plans to roll out of the U.S., though Amazon Prime Now will need to be available in other regions first, presumably.
However, all is not gravy and smiling deliveries with Amazon Flex.
On Tuesday, shares of Amazon.com Inc. fell $7.99 to $496.07.
