Carly Rae Jepsen joins ‘Grease
Jepsen, whose hits include “Call Me Maybe” and “I Really Like You”, takes on the role played by Didi Conn in the movie.
Carly Rae Jepsen is going to be appearing in Fox’s live musical product of Grease, the network announced today.

David Del Rio (“Spare Parts“, “The Troop“) has also been cast as Putzie in this rendition of the classic musical centered around too-cool-for-school high school greasers, the T-Birds, and their gals, the Pink Ladies.
The Pink Ladies have found their final two members. Jessie J will perform her new version of “Grease (Is the Word)” to open the live event.

“Grease: Live” is set to air in a live three-hour block on Fox on January 31, with Julianne Hough of “Dancing With the Stars” fame as Sandy, the nice girl who falls in love with bad-boy gang leader Danny (Aaron Tveit).
Broadway writers Robert Cary and Jonathan Tolins will write the television adaptation based on the original musical Grease by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and Paramount Pictures’ 1978 feature adaptation.
