The Big Bang Theory Recap: It Was Just a Dream

“The Big Bang Theory” season 9 will air its second episode on Monday night, which will focus on the secret that Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) has been keeping from Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting).

Less than 24 hours after their wedding, Leonard and Penny are off to a rocky start as she is still uncomfortable over his admission to kissing a colleague years prior. Enter handsome, street-smart neighbor, Penny, who aims to teach them a thing or two about life. Bernadette counters that it’s a lot better to have someone be with you because they want to be rather than because they think they can’t get anyone else. Raj is upset at Howard because he didn’t hear about Leonard’s tryst with Mandy Chow from him.

Sheldon, nearly skipping off to his room: “She was listening through the door”. Will she finally confess her secret despite knowing that Penny is already dealing with a big problem with her marriage? The promo ends with Leonard shouting in confusion, “What is happening?” With Leonard about to move on from being Sheldon’s roommate, it’s only going to get more interesting. He actually feels really guilty about what he did, which is one of the reasons why he opened up and came clean to Penny.

Sheldon resorts to Internet revenge in the only way he would know how to execute it. After exhausting his attempts to lure Amy back with his quirks and charming knocks, Sheldon tried to make her jealous by including Penny’s bra in a box of Amy’s items. The media outlet also added that the show hasn’t shown Penny’s mom till date and her father is the only family member fans have been accustomed to.

Penny told Leonard, “Maybe the way I’ve been acting is like I’ve been sabotaging the marriage, too”.

Episode two of “The Big Bang Theory” season nine is titled “The Separation Oscillation” and hints that the relationships that have gone sour won’t be easily fixed. All was good and they were off to the bedroom.

Mandy suggests he told Penny about their boozy bussing in the first place because he was trying to sabotage his relationship, and that leads to a rambling, out-loud self-examination in which Leonard acknowledges she might be right, that he still, on a few level, thinks he doesn’t deserve Penny, that his dysfunctional relationship with Sheldon includes a dream where he had a baby with Sheldon’s head on its body, and that all this ties back to the fact that his mother withheld her love from him. After she leaves in a huff, Sheldon smiles and announces he’s going to get her back. She apologized for saying she was OK with Leonard kissing another woman when she wasn’t.

Penny told Amy and Bernadette that she didn’t think Leonard would ever kiss another woman. “And, thankfully, all of the things that my girlfriend used to do can be taken care of with my right hand”. She felt as though he wasn’t giving her enough attention, and she wasn’t happy that their relationship just wasn’t moving along. However, she is anxious that they will not approve of her Las Vegas spontaneity.
