Oilers F Eberle out 4-6 weeks
Jordan Eberle will miss the next four-to-six weeks due to a shoulder injury. Eberle collided into the end boards behind the Coyotes net.
“You train hard in the off-season to get where you are …”
With Eberle sidelined for at least the first month of the season – and perhaps longer – it’s going to come down to Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and No. 1 overall pick Connor McDavid to carry the Oilers’ offense. “It’s obviously better to do something like this now than maybe later in the season when, hopefully, we’re battling for a playoff spot or in the mix”.
Nurse played three pre-season games, registering zero points and -1 with seven penalty minutes.
The Oilers begin their season against the Blues in St. Louis on October 8.
Darnell Nurse, 20, was one of four players assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.
Defenseman Martin Gernat and forwards Mitchell Moroz and Iiro Pakarinen were also sent to Bakerfield to bring the team’s training camp roster to 28 players. The team announced during the game that he would not return to the ice, though they did not confirm that it was indeed his shoulder.
