Garth Brooks’ Broken Cell Phone Wipes Out Music for New Album
Fans have waited a very long time to see Garth Brooks back on stage in San Jose, Calif. – but they’ll soon get their Garth fix. According to Taste of Country on Tuesday, Garth Brooks lost all of his work after the cell phone he writes his lyrics on was ruined and the information still hasn’t been retrieved.
In a recent interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (h/t Rolling Stone), Brooks revealed one of those darn blasted cell phones is responsible for holding up his next album. He says he’s still working on getting the songs back.
“Here’s where the old guy gets into technology, which is bad”, Brooks joked. “I know I should have backed it up”, he told the Journal Sentinel.
Brooks, who is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the 2015 CMA Awards, is continuing his World Tour this fall with shows in Cleveland, Ohio; Phoenix, Ariz. “It’s like losing your briefcase back in the ’90s”. “We’ll get it”.
Brooks promised that he is “still working on that phone”, but let’s just cross our fingers that his songwriters, producers, managers and/or label bosses have copies of the songs somewhere.
Brooks and Yearwood also received side-by-side stars on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville in September.
