Mike Miller On The Move
The Cavaliers dealt Miller to Portland in the Brendan Haywood trade, but the Blazers didn’t have much use for the swingman.
In an interview with CBS Sports Nuggets GM Tim Connelly said, “I think we have a unique mix of really young guys, middle-age guys entering their prime, and we’re always looking to be optimistic and aggressive where [we] can identify whether it’s a young guy or a veteran who can make us better'”.
So… yeah, they’d be interested in Mike Miller.
The Nuggets signed forward Mike Miller to a one-year contract on Wednesday, the National Basketball Association announced.
Miller played in 52 games with Cleveland last season, signing with the team after LeBron James returned.
Miller then spent one season each with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards before joining the Heat.
Miller is also a former victor of the Sixth Man of the Year award, having won it back in the 2005-2006 season. Miller averaged 2.1 points over 13.5 minutes per game, shooting 32.7% from three-point range and 32.5% overall. The Nuggets also have a considerable amount of wing depth with Gary Harris, Randy Foye, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Will Barton. Why would the Nuggets want to add another veteran? He is a good 3-point shooter, hitting 41 percent from behind the arc.
They play their first preseason game Friday in Los Angeles against the Clippers. Now Miller will join the Nuggets and try to show that he has something left in the tank.
