Fleetwood Town sack Graham Alexander
Fleetwood’s League 1 season continued with a heavy defeat against Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday.
Fleetwood Town have sacked manager Graham Alexander a day after they were beaten 5-1 at Gillingham.
Just six minutes later, Donnelly grabbed his first at the back post before the hosts found themselves in front courtesy of Chelsea loanee Jordan Houghton.
Before his sacking Alexander was League One’s fourth longest serving manager.
These were the match highlights.
Fleetwood Town Chairman Andy Pilley said: “It is an extremely unpleasant part of being Chairman having to make such a decision, however ultimately, for a number of reasons; I felt this was in the best interests of the Club”.
Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Blackpool, Gillingham and Bury.
He oversaw the Cod Army’s promotion to League One in 2013/14 and led the club to a tenth-place finish in League One last term. “It doesn’t always happen, but we pushed men forward and you are always going to be liable to the counter, but we defended well and held our own”.
Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most in this mauling?
