No. 9 Bruins rout No. 16 Wildcats 56-30 to open Pac-12

Perkins is a guy who is always mentioned as being underrated nationally, but perhaps that effort in prime-time will help get him his due. It is odd how everyone outside Arizona and the Pac-12 knew what we were getting with Arizona.

Beating UCLA last season so the Bruins may have had revenge but Arizona just never looked comfortable in this route which is a credit to their opponents. They were cheering for the Wildcats, and then it was like we were cheering for both teams. “We gave up too much in the run game, but we will get better”.

No. 9 UCLA sent an emphatic message to the rest of the Pac-12 Saturday in its 56-30 romp over No. 16 Arizona: The road to the conference title passes through the Rose Bowl.

The Wildcats offense is led by sophomores Anu Solomon and Nick Wilson.

“You just connect sometimes”, Rosen said.

Arizona’s offense will look different if Solomon, who was forced out of the game in the second quarter after suffering an apparent head injury, is out for any significant period of time. Randall came in and sprinted 39 yards for a touchdown on his first play to make it 28-14.

Those missed tackles allowed Arizona to pile up 353 net yards rushing, but Young pointed with disgust to the raw total of 403 yards rushing before negative plays were deducted. “It’s still his first game, and he’s still working himself back into shape”. We like to take the home team in these big college football rivalry games. They did have the opportunity to take down USC past year, but came up a field goal shy.
