The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to appear in the romantic dramedy The Rosie Project for Columbia Pictures.
The film is an adaptation of a Graeme Simsion novel and follows a socially awkward genetics professor who develops a scientifically sound survey to find the ideal mate. He is thrown for a loop when Rosie Jarman, who fills none of the criteria of the woman he should technically be with, stumbles into his life.
The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had been slated to helm the film, but a replacement is now being sought after they jumped ship for the recently announced Star Wars spin-off project about Han Solo. The project is now on a fast-track search for a director.
Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan are producing.
Lawrence will next be seen in the final “Hunger Games” film, “Mockingjay – Part 2“, which opens November 20, and in Fox’s drama “Joy“, which launches on Christmas Day. Lawrence is already in pre-production to star in the studio’s Passengers, a sci-fi love story with Chris Pratt.
I think J. Lawrence is a genius actor.
